Sunday, December 23rd 2018: Central Park Adventure

Sometimes called “New York’s Lungs”, Central Park gives natives and visitors alike a chance to breathe easy, relaxing in a massive (843 acre!) green space and enjoying everything from birdwatching, to a ball game, to a night of free Shakespeare. But creating the park was an arduous, politically complex task and maintaining it has been no less of a challenge.

So, what was Seneca Village and who destroyed it?

What issue drove producer Joseph Papp to take on the notorious developer Robert Moses?

How was the park revitalized after years of decline?

And why all the carriage horse controversy?

Let’s take a spin on the carousel and we’ll explain it all.
